PRIVACY Policy

I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting the personal and health information you provide to me. I handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as well as my professional obligations.

What information do I collect and why?

I collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide psychological assessment and treatment and to manage my practice. This may include your contact details, health and psychological information, information relevant to your treatment, appointment and billing information, and correspondence relating to your care.

Information is generally collected directly from you. Where appropriate and authorised, information may also be received from other health professionals involved in your care.

How is my information used?

Your information is primarily used to provide psychological services and maintain appropriate clinical records. It may also be used for appointment administration, billing, communicating with other health professionals where you have authorised this, preparing reports, and meeting legal, professional or regulatory requirements.

I will only disclose your information with your consent or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

How is my information kept secure?

I use secure electronic systems and appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure. These include practice-management, email and cloud-storage services.

Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where applicable, I take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled consistently with my privacy obligations.

Do you use AI?

I may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for some general professional and administrative tasks, such as developing templates, drafting general correspondence and exploring psychological or professional information.

I do not enter information that identifies, or could reasonably identify, individual clients into publicly available AI tools.

AI is not used to make decisions about your diagnosis, treatment, risk or psychological care. Clinical decisions and professional judgement remain my responsibility.

Can I access or correct my information?

You may request access to personal information I hold about you and may ask me to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading.

What if I have a privacy concern?

If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled, please contact me in the first instance so that I can discuss the concern with you and try to resolve it.
